Facebook | My Photos - As I see the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community: Early Years

Historic photographs of early members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in America.

This is a photo of Aliyya Ali. She was the first African American to accept Ahmadiyya, the true Islam, which was in 1921. Aliya was originally from Kenner, LA and on a visit to Chicago she heard about Ahmadiyya. As a result she paid a visit to the mosque at 4448 South Wabash. Her visit marked the beginning of African Americans into its fold. Aliyya Ali subsequently established her permanent residents in Chicago and the rest is history.
